6) Change-of-direction and reactive checklist

This is the “sport is chaotic” section.

The athlete should pass:
• Preplanned cuts: 45°, 90°, 135°, crossover, spin-out
• Unplanned / reactive cuts to visual or verbal cue
• Open-skill reorientation under time pressure
• Defensive shuffle to reactive drive
• Closeout to lateral recovery
• Jump-stop to pass / shot / re-acceleration
• Rotation + decel + re-acceleration sequences

For ACL especially, the late-stage model should not stop at planned drills. Consensus work emphasizes RTS as a continuum and not a single date, and high-demand pivoting sport requires more than time plus simple strength tests.
